THIS BOAT WILL
NEVER SINK.
Once upon a time there was boat of which it was said "this boat
will never sink" and on its maiden voyage... it sunk! ...
Humanity will never sink, as long as Jesus is
one of its passengers!
In our world today, the boat of humanity is dangerously navigating through
storms of wars, and injustices.
Let us find Jesus so that he may calm the storms, just as he calmed
the "violent squal" in the Sea of Galilee.
If we want to keep our boat afloat let us keep
in mind the following:
1. We must keep in mind that Jesus is with us "in
our boat", "in the boat of humanity",
just like the disciples knew that Jesus was with them in their boat.
It is by faith that we rush towards the Lord saying: "Teacher,
do you not care that we are perishing?" (Mark
4:38).
2. Let us keep in mind that whenever we are on the same boat with Jesus,
we take on the ability to do his works
of peace and justice; for we "no
longer live for ourselves but for him who for our sake died and was
raised" (2 Corinthians 5:15)
3. The Lord reassures us that he has the
power to calm humanity's storms because he is the creator
of heaven and earth and everything is under his authority. Lord says:
"I set the limits for [the sea]
and fastened the bar of its door; and said: Thus far shall you come
but no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stilled!"
(Job 38:10-11).
Jesus has shown us that life will prevail over death, peace over war,
truth over lies, respect over abuse.
And the boat where Jesus and the disciples were, did
not sink!
